Poetry by Ruby
Poetry is the first love of writing for me. I've been composing poetry seriously for over ten years. You should see the not so serious stuff composed in elementary school. Poetry for me is about alot of things. I communicate thoughts and feelings much better through prose than simple conversation. I express deep emotions in the words of a poem whereas it is much more difficult to convey those thought verbally in person.
My favourites in the poetry world include Robert Service, Anne Bronte and Shel Silverstein.
Enjoy reading my poetry blog. Every entry is written from the heart.

Songs by Ruby
Yes, I am a songwriter. It's been quite a challenging feat due to my lack of music theory skills. But I have been blessed with a sister who is so skilled in this department. I write the lyrics and melody and Jennifer beautifies the piece with an arrangement and sheet music. We have composed a few tunes with this method of team work. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.
Thoughts by Ruby
Thoughts, contemplations, queries, questions, answers, simple musings... you will find these things in my Thoughts by Ruby blog. It might be topic somewhat profound or just sharing of an experience I had.
Ruby Imagines
The most vivid part of my creative frame is my imagination. The licence to imagine and create even though reality would choose to stifle me is one the greatest freedoms in writing. There are no boundaries to one's imagination. This I learned at Disney World in Florida and have exercised it ever since. This blog is one of my favourites because it allows me to dream...and dreaming is my favourite activity.
Bible Notes by Ruby
Scripture is a beautiful thing when it is read, yet even more beautiful when applied to one's life. When I read portions of scripture, I like to pull the thoughts of the writers and mesh it into my own life. How can I apply this word into my own life. These postings are my translation, application and life experiences that make the Word of God come alive in my day to day walk.
Quotes by Ruby
My little blurbes these are. Little pieces of wisdom that I've gleaned along the way.
Ruby's Missions Journal
This is exactly what the title calls it... my mission's journal. A daily account of my missions trips...whereever I go, whatever I do, whoever I meet... I want to share those experiences with you.
Book Reviews by Ruby
Books, Books, Books
Reading is getting to be a lost art. It's much easier to see Lord of the Rings on DVD which takes only 9 hours as opposed to the 9 years it takes most people to read the trilogy. But most movies can't capture the whole picture that the author paints in the storylines.
I like fiction and non-fiction. Some of my favourite authors are Frank Peretti, Francine Rivers, Phill Callaway, James Dobsen and Phillip Yancey. As this blog progresses, you will see some of my favourites make an appearance. Most good books deserve a few good re-reads.
If you have read any thought provoking books and you think I would enjoy them, please leave a comment on this blog. I do have a few titles I haven't read in my library, but I can squeeze in a few more in my schedule. I only read three or four at a time. That's why it takes me so long to get through one.

Movie Reviews by Ruby
Aaahhh... movies. I like movies... from thought provoking films to Disney flicks. I did see Cars, but didn't think it review material... If there are any good movies you have seen, and want my opinion on them... please leave me a comment on this post.
P.S. I don't do horrors...

Specials: not from ruby
This blog is dedicated to the other inspirations in my life. I'm not the authour of these postings, but I wanted to have a place to display the artwork and the thoughts of others that might not have an audience to share their thoughts with. These have become my favourites. This blog has also become a place for me to dump anything that I can't sign my "john henry" too. Hey, there's more wisdom out there than just mine!!!
Ruby's Favourite Things
There is nothing creative about this blog. It is simply a list of my favourite things. Something for you to browse over if you want to get to know me better... or if you're looking for birthday or Christmas present ideas, you might find this blog useful.
